So cute he could be mine! JK!

CELEBRATING. . . . . . . . . . . . . .LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this case, it’s a new life! My son is finally a big brother! His dad’s fiance, Liz, delivered this little piece of heaven today (at week 28 in the pregnancy): Patrick Joseph Pilny. 2 lb. 11oz, 15 in. Liz is doing very well after an emergency c-section and Patrick came out screaming--a welcome surprise! He’s breathing on his own but is receiving oxygen to “remind him to breathe.” My heart swells with love!!!!♥♥ō♥♥♥

So, here’s a picture that shows Patrick holding onto Aidan’s hand and then Patrick holding onto Dad's hand!

Two giveaways

Well now, this is one of those win-win situations. The following are two blogs with giveaways. All you have to do is click on the link and fly on over to get entered in the drawings. I get an extra entry just for telling you! How sweet is that? Now, let’s say you’re not particularly enchanted with the giveaways. That’s okay-problem solved! I love them so you can just give them to me. And I will thank you. Or make you cookies. Or proofread your resume. Or crank call that nosy neighbor of yours (just kidding!) Whichever you prefer. So, on to the good stuff!

Prize package #1 is 8- one-half-yard cuts of each of the Blush fabrics shown (total= 4 yards). Run to 44th Street Fabric before Feb 22nd! (photo property of 44th Street Fabric)

Prize package #2 is a Plume jellyroll and charm pack (photo property of PicklesandBacon). Thanks go to Pickles and Bacon for her over-purchasing and then giving-it-away tendencies! And, Of course, the title of her blog has the foundation of the food pyramid-BACON-in it. Gotta love it!

Oh Happy Day!

I spoke with my mom the other day and she oh, so gently asked if I “remembered” to make the Amy Butler birdie sling for her. She bought the material and I said I’d make it. That was quite a while ago. So yesterday I went to a quilting sew-in and brought this project; I’m happy to say I finished it tonight.

A New Camera for Me Means New Photos for You!

Well, I have plenty to share now that I have a camera! Yeah! It came last night and man is it fancy-schmancy! All these useless buttons—I feel so professional! It even has an “easy” (yes, it’s labeled “easy” on the dial) setting. This setting shows IN BIG LETTERS how many photos left and battery charge. Hilarious! So, here’s the lineup:

This is the “piece of wonky quilted awesomeness” I referred to in a previous post. Not so awesome but it’s okay for my first real foray into improve madness. I plan to outline in the brown dot and then have it sort of “float” on the left-hand side of a lap-sized throw. I’ll post again when it’s finished.

This treasure was a UFO I found hiding downstairs. It’s supposed to be a card-table sized tablecloth but I decided that it’s time to finish it so I quilted & threw on the binding. It’s 28-inch-ish square. And, it matching absolutely nothing! But it’s Done; I needed something Done. You know what I mean, right?

This is an art quilt from Krista Hennebury of Canada. You may recognize her blog: http://poppyprintcreates.blogspot.com/ This woman is seriously talented and I feel fortunate to own one of her creative masterpieces! The quotation reads, “One does not discover new lands without consenting to leave the shore for a very long time.” This is perfect because I’m definitely making changes (not to mention BIG waves) in my life; I see it this little beauty every time I walk out the door and am reminded to persevere.

Last but certainly not least, this is the fabric basket I won from Corky! Isn’t it perfect? I just love it! She asked about my colors and I sent a picture of the painting above the fireplace. What an eye this woman has! Thanks again, Corky!
